The 21st winner of the 1000 Guineas, held on Thursday 1st May 1834 over the Ditch Mile, was May-Day (6/1), a chestnut filly by Lamplighter out of a Rubens mare (Camarine's dam), owned by the 9th Baron Berners, who won by a length. A field of 7 runners contested the race which was worth £1870 (Equivalent to £202,000 in 2017)
